In order for our riders to embody this, we as a brand need to push the boundaries of development. Rider’s need to feel that their equipment is at one with them, an extension of them. There should be no element of doubt that the equipment they use is reliable and durable for the toughest conditions.

Ryan Siegelberg

Ryan has been kiting since his early teens and now dedicated more than half a lifetime to riding the windy Cape Town conditions. Even though he is known for his Big Air skills and riding in King of The Air at the height of his career, he prefers to enjoy pushing his own riding and sharing his stoke with other riders of all levels.

Josh is a valuable resource and helping hand at any kiting beach even though he is a relatively new kiter with only 3 seasons under his belt. His eagerness to learn and progress has been a real test for the new Freeride Range on which he has been racking up new tricks and height PB’s.

Kiting since the age of 12, Josh competed as a junior in the BKSA tour coming 2nd and then moved on to sharing his passion with many through instructing kiting. Josh knew Lacuna Kites were for him after trying them in UK Winter Storms because of their amazing boost and direct feel. Josh is always planning the next kite trip or trying different spots - follow him on SM or catch him at the beach.

Dave has designed every piece of equipment kiters need, as well as manufacture processes and testing methods to qualify materials and safety features. He shares his knowledge freely and if you follow his Social Media or his monthly Tech Cast on KiteSurf365, you are sure to learn something new.

Product Designer

There is no position in the kite industry that Su has not held - from rider to instructor to product repair, testing, quality control, customer service, sales, product design and manufacture, and everything in between. Su loves flying kites and wants everyone to love flying kites too!

Mike Engelbrecht

For nearly 20 years Mike has loved nothing more than getting out kiting to de-stress and escape into a magical world of adrenaline fuelled stoke with the kite community, first in Cape Town and now in Rome. Spreading the stoke, spreading the love of the sport, spreading knowledge is a big part of Mike’s why and is the reason we are excited to have him on Lacuna gear!
